God is holy and inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). There is no one that has trusted the Lord and he is put to shame. Israel trusted and cried onto the Lord in their afflictions and the Lord rescued them. Those who fear the Lord praise him (v. 23). There is indeed power in praising the Lord. Praises to God bring victory and release solutions to our problems. With praises to God we are more than conquerors. Make sure you do not go back the same after today’s praise and worship Church service. The bible tells us in 2 Chronicles of a King in Judah that cried unto the Lord when enemies encompassed him and the Lord delivered him in a special way.

Moabites, Ammonites and some Meunites came to wage war on Jehoshaphat the king of Judah (2 Chronicles 20: 1-30). The king was alarmed because he knew they did not have the power to face such a vast army. He therefore focused his hope on God (v. 12). He declared a general fast throughout Judah and inquired from the Lord what to do. The word of God came through Jahaziel during the period of fasting to Jehoshaphat. The fight was not for Jehoshaphat to fight but the Lord’s battle. God told Jehoshaphat where to wait for his enemies but he was not to fight them. He was only to wait there and see how the Lord was going to deliver him from the hands of his enemies. Upon hearing this Jehoshaphat and all the people fell down in worship of the Lord. Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord with a loud voice (v. 19). It should be noted that these Levites understood that God is moved by the praises and worship of His people. That is the power of praise.

At the appointed day and time, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the praise of the Lord as they marched to their position in the battle field. The Lord set an ambush against the enemies of Israel. The Ammonites joined forces with Moabites against the army of the Seirs and killed them all. Then the Ammonites and Moabites turned and slaughtered each other. The men of Judah arrived at the battlefield only to see dead bodies. Jehoshaphat and his men went and carried off their plunder. There was a great amount of equipment, clothes and valuable things. It took them three days to be able to carry all the plunder away from the battle field. Jehoshaphat and all the men of Judah praised the Lord on the fourth day and the fear of the Lord came upon all the surrounding kingdoms peace was restored in Judah.

When you praise and worship the lord and trust Him in all things, your life will never be the same. The peace of God will come into your life because you praise the Lord.
